Infrastructure:- Center for Management Studies Dibrugarh University is the easternmost management institute of India and also among the youngest. It came into being with the formal notification of Dibrugarh University about the establishment of the Centre on November 25, 2002. The first batch MBA classes started from February 3, 2003. It is in the serene and natural surroundings full of greenery on a well-developed open area providing an excellent environment for the pursuit of knowledge and development of mental horizons. The Centre is equipped with adequate infrastructure for enhancing the learning experience of students as well as faculties. CMS offers, suitably furnished classrooms equipped with audio-visual aids to ensure an excellent atmosphere for learning.

Placement:- Training and Placement (T & P) Cell headed by a Placement Officer. who has regular liaison with various companies for successful placement of candidates through Campus Interviews. The Placement Officer is also responsible for arranging summer training for the students. There are also Student Placement Co-ordinators. The T&P Cell is a member of North East Professional Institutes Forum (NEPIF).

Infrastructure:- It was established in 2006. The institute is managed and run by Shrimanta Shankar Academy. Girijananda Chowdhury Institute of Management and Technology is affiliated to Gauhati University, Guwahati and approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Government of India, New Delhi. The institute imparts courses in engineering field, at the undergraduate level. With these courses, it also offers postgraduate courses in management (MBA) and computer applications (MCA). Placement:-  The Training and Placement Cell of GIMT, came to existence on August, 2009.Right from its inception, the Cell is actively involved in building an interface between academia and corporate houses by organizing various seminars, pre-placement talks,work-shops,training programs, summer placements,etc. The Training and Placement Cell plays a vital role in providing various training programs both in-house and out-house -such as summer placement, workshops, seminars, industry visit, personality development programs, etc. to imbibe in the students and make them acquaintance with the corporate culture and the practical implication of the various theoretical subjects.

The Training and Placement Cell handles all aspect of campus placements for the students at GIMT. The office is well equipped with excellent infrastructure to support every stage of the placement process. Arrangement for pre-placement Talks, Interviews, Group Discussions etc., are handled by the Cell. The placement policies and other related activities are handled by the Training & Placement Officer in consultation with the Student Coordinators and Representatives. The process of contacting companies for recruitment is handled by the Placement Cell which consists of the TPO and the nominated students from the department.
